OUR APPROACH
Move with purpose.
Finish with a use in mind.
Hauling and grading connect the movement of material with the shape and usefulness of the finished ground.
Start with the next use.
A field, access track, yard and prepared pad can demand different outcomes. Before discussing a machine or a change to its setup, identify what the area needs to support and what conditions the work must leave behind.
That gives the enquiry a purpose: what material must move, where it must go, how water should behave, and which surface details matter for the next activity.
Three connected stages
Understand the ground
Record the area, existing levels where available, material, moisture and access. Bring survey documents or photographs to a design enquiry when they help explain the site.
Plan material movement
Distinguish cutting, loading, carrying and spreading. Quantities, travel distance and working conditions influence the job; a general productivity figure cannot describe every site.
Define the finish
Explain the intended grade, drainage direction and surface requirement. Final shaping should relate to the agreed plan and the next use, rather than appearance alone.
What we mean by land refreshing
Land refreshing describes improving existing ground for another useful cycle. Depending on the job, the discussion may concern reshaping a surface, redistributing material or preparing ground for further operations.
It is a purpose, not a promise of a particular soil, crop or environmental result. The appropriate work depends on the site and its intended use.
Changing a setup starts with the conditions
For a question about corrugations, clay clods, sand or seedbed preparation, include the current configuration, material condition, previous passes and the result you want. Tested operating settings and physical design changes need to be distinguished.
Blade changes, additional weight or new mounting arrangements require assessment against the specific machine and its confirmed limits. Frank’s Final Grade is the design enquiry pathway.
